RSC awards announced

Many congratulations to Professor Varinder Aggarwal, Professor Ian Manners and Professor Dudley Shallcross who have all been awarded RSC prizes

Professor Varinder Aggarwal who has been awarded the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Synthetic Organic Chemistry Award for 2017. This has been awarded for ‘highly creative work in the development of new synthetic methods based on the asymmetric homologation of boronic esters and their applications in natural and non-natural product synthesis’.
 
Professor Ian Manners who has been awarded the Royal Society of Chemistry’s de Gennes Prize for 2017. This prize has been awarded for ‘pioneering work in the development of living, crystallisation-driven, self-assembly methods for the preparation of functional and complex micelles’.
 
Professor Dudley Shallcross who has been awarded the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Nyholm Prize for Education for 2017. This Prize recognises Dudley’s innovations in the chemistry (science) education sector in the UK and overseas which have been effective and long-lasting, impacting Primary School science through to postgraduate training and education.
 
As part of their Award or Prize, Varinder, Ian and Dudley will each deliver a number of lectures across UK universities between September 2017 and May
