Athena SWAN Bronze Award

1 November 2018

We are pleased to announce that the School has been awarded an Athena SWAN Bronze Award for a further three years.

The Athena Swan charter recognises efforts made to ensure a positive environment for women working in science; that they are represented at all levels, their contribution, skills and experience are recognised, and that they are retained and promoted appropriately.

The School of Chemistry is working hard to improve the gender balance across its staff and students, and is already benefiting from the opportunities that come from a culture of equality and diversity. The renewal of our Athena SWAN Bronze award recognizes the wide range of actions we have already implemented, and we are committed to achieving even more in the future.

The award will be presented at an awards ceremony to be held at the University of Southampton on 10 December 2018.
