Colloid and interface science is concerned with particles, droplets and bubbles dispersed in solids, liquids and gases, and the properties of the interfacial regions between them.
Colloids are ubiquitous, from blood, milk and chocolate to cosmetics and aerosols and they can come in a rich variety of sizes and shapes.
Not only are colloids and interfaces important in every aspect of everyday life, they are the basis of many industrial products and processes - ranging from the control and stability of formulations; catalysis; and for creating novel electronic, ultra light and high strength materials and triggered surfactants.
