I obtained my HND in Chemistry from Glasgow College of Technology in 1988. I then worked for a couple of companies in Scotland that manufactured Detergents and Animal Health Care products. Following this I moved to England where I have worked for a number of companies including Huntingdon Life Sciences, Evotec OAI and GE Healthcare.

I joined the group in November 2007 as a Research analyst. This means that I help to maintain the instruments within the NERC LSMSF facility along with my colleagues Mrs Alison Kuhl and Dr Ian Bull. I organize and conduct defined research projects to meet the research objectives of applications to NERC LSMSF (see the website for more details about the facility) and manage research staff and students using Facility instrumentation including training where required. Also at the moment I am responsible for the scheduling of instrument usage time, to allow the instruments to be used efficiently.
