Dr. David Naafs made his radio debut today when he appeared on Bristol Community FM to participate in an hour-long science show entitled 'Love and Science". David discussed a range of topics including ocean acidification, glacial/interglacial cycles and Mesozoic carbon cycle perturbations. He also provided some insights into the day-to-day life of a palaeoceanographer and explained why he chose to work here in the Organic Geochemistry Unit (OGU).
It seems that it is only a matter of time before David becomes the next Sir David Attenborough or Professor Brian Cox...

This was not the only palaeoclimate-themed broadcast this week as Professor Jane Francis, Dr. Richard Corfield and Dr. Carrie Lear guested on Melvyn Braggs excellent BBC Radio 4 show 'In Our Time' to discuss Ice Ages. Although not directly OGU-related, both Jane and Carrie are currently collaborating with the OGU on a variety of projects such as the Descent into the Icehouse project with Rich Pancost, Gordon Inglis and Kyle Taylor.
