Other news:

  • We welcomed Marta Frances Negro from the University of Brugos who joined us for 4 months.
  • The OGU was awarded a Bronze award in the Green Impact Labs accreditation scheme. The OGU also won the 'Innovation for Engagement Award' for developing education materials  - these have now been adapted so that other labs across the University can use them for sustainability education in their own labs. Well done all!
  • Jon Pemberton was on the organising committee for the first ever student-led Chemistry Applications For Environmental Science (CAFES) symposium. Julie Dunne, Gordon Inglis and Catherine McIntyre all gave talks outlining the work undertaken in the OGU.
  • We welcomed new PhD students Jerome Blewett (RDP), Sophie Brown (RPE), Leonardo Mena Rivera (RPE, IDB) and masters student Miya Zhang (RPE).
  • Congratulations to Dr Iain Kendall for passing his viva on 14th December!
