Childhood Studies
Childhood Studies is an exciting degree which considers children and young people from birth to 19 years of age. It is unique in being located within a policy studies department, housing seven different research centres.

Social Policy
Social Policy is the academic study of how societies identify, conceptualise and respond to 'need', and promote, or not, the welfare and 'wellbeing' of their members. This is a rigorous and critical but exciting and relevant subject, drawing on disciplines such as sociology, politics, economics and history to look at some of the burning questions of the day.

Criminology
Criminology is a multi-disciplinary subject, which draws on different disciplines such sociology, law, history, psychology, philosophy, and social and public policy.The course provides students with an understanding of crime and related social harms and the analysis of public policy interventions which contribute towards a safer and harm-free society.

International Social and Public Policy
The BSc International Social and Public Policy programme is a multi-disciplinary, international degree that integrates the analysis of government policy with the understanding of broader global political, economic and social change.

Intercalated degrees
The School for Policy Studies runs the BSc in Global Health and the BSc in Childhood Studies - highly successful one year intercalated degrees for medical students.

If you do not have the required level of English to apply for one of our courses, you can apply for our one-year International Foundation Programme. This will develop your skills to the level needed for one of our undergraduate courses. Completing the course guarantees you a conditional offer from the University of Bristol. Our programme is also recognised by other UK universities.
