In recent years members of the Department have held Visiting Fellowships or similar at the Center for Hellenic Studies in Washington DC, at Princeton University (three different academics), at the Free University, Berlin, and at the Universities of Bonn and Cincinnati, and have co-authored or co-edited volumes with scholars from all over the world, as well as delivering invited lectures in every inhabited continent.

In addition to the funded projects listed above, members of the Department are involved in other collaborative projects such as Classics and Media History/Theory (Dr Pantelis Michelakis) and Classical Polytheism and Modern Wellbeing (Dr Kurt Lampe), as well as in the excavations at Palaikastro, East Crete (Professor Nicoletta Momigliano, Deputy Director).

The Department participates in several international research groupings: the ‘Postclassicisms’ network at Princeton (Dr Laura Jansen), the Encounters with Classical Antiquity in Latin America workshop at Yale (Dr Laura Jansen), and the Archive of Performances of Greek and Roman Drama at Oxford (Dr Pantelis Michelakis, Consultant Director).

Members of the Department also have major editorial responsibilities for international publication projects: the Bloomsbury series Classical Receptions in Twentieth-Century Writing (Dr Laura Jansen, sole Editor), the Diccionario hispánico de la tradición clásica (Dr Laura Jansen, Associate Editor), the leading international classics journal Classical Quarterly(Professor Patrick Finglass, Editor), and the major Oxford University Press digital humanities project Oxford Scholarly Editions Online (Professor Patrick Finglass, Classics Advisor).
