  • Investigating the role of monocyte subsets in human inflammatory disease and response to synthetic glucocorticoid steroids.

I have a long-standing interest in the development and application of monoclonal antibodies for therapeutic application in both cancer and autoimmune disease. I completed a PhD with Prof. Mark Cragg (Antibody and Vaccine Group, University of Southampton) in 2010 studying the therapeutic efficacy of direct-targeting monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) towards the inhibitory Fcgamma-receptors in murine models of lymphoma. Following this, I undertook a post-doctoral position with Dr Juliet Gray (Antibody and Vaccine Group, University of Southampton), investigating therapeutic anti-tumour immunity in pre-clinical neuroblastoma models by combining immunomodulatory mAb targeting T-cells co-stimulatory and co-inhibitory molecules with peptide vaccination.
