- Nicotine and nicotinic receptors in mammalian brain
The majority of our collective research focuses on Alzheimer's disease (AD), the most common form of dementia, but we also have interests in the other dementias, especially those conditions that overlap with or sometimes occur together with AD. For examples please see the Bristol and Bath ART Network publications.
We are collectively interested in developing new therapeutic approaches, developing new diagnostic assessment methods, evaluating new drugs as well as trying to identify genetic and molecular risk factors that may either lead the development of the disease or influence the progession and response of people to various treatments as well as other clinical aspects of the dementias.
The Network is supported by a Network Grant from the Alzheimer's Research Trust.
