How to deal with an accident/incident at work
If you discover someone within the Department who has had an accident and is injured as a result of the accident, please follow the procedure below:
- Contact a First Aider
- Contact Sue Christie (Safety Officer) or in Sue's absence, Candida Tasman (Deputy Safety Officer)
- Complete an Accident Report Form
- Send the Accident Report Form to Sue Christie

There are various green signs around the Department with details of who the nearest First Aider is.

Sue Christie must be notified of the accident/incident as soon as possible. Sue will then deal with liaising with the Safety Office and will ensure that they receive the form.
In Sue's absence you should contact
Candida Tasman or
Rich Aitken
Accidents/Incidents which may be classed as serious must be reported to the Safety Office by telephone (928 8780) as soon as possible. Sue will deal with this on your behalf.
