“Call for your ABSTRACT”

The proposed symposium will highlight the topics on the normal synapse and synaptic failure by disease. We will extensively discuss synaptic plasticity and synaptic structural molecules, to provide a better insight for the novel therapeutic approach to neurodegenerative disease.

The first part of symposium will be organised by the MRC Centre for Synaptic Plasticity (University of Bristol, UK), which has world-class expertise in synaptic plasticity in the central nervous system and has developed many of the glutamate receptor antagonists that are in use today.  An interesting line up of speakers will include:
Osborne Almeida (MPI, Munich, Germany), Haruhiko Bito (Tokyo, Japan), Vadim Bolshakov, (Harvard, USA), Kei Cho (Bristol, UK), Graham Collingridge (Bristol, UK), Nigel Emptage (Oxford, UK), Yasunori Hayashi (RIKEN, Japan), Casper Hoogenraad (Rotterdam, Holland), Bong-Kiun Kaang (SNU, Korea), Eunjoon Kim (KAIST, Korea), Hey-Kyoung Lee (Maryland, USA), Zheng Li (NIH, USA), Bai Lu (GSK Shanghai, China),   David Klenerman (Cambridge, UK),  Morgan Sheng (MIT/Genentech, USA), Hongjun Song, (John Hopkins, USA), Peter St. George-Hyslop (Cambridge, UK), Akihiro Takashima (RIKEN, Japan), Tadaharu Tsumoto (RIKEN, Japan),  Miyakawa, Tsuyoshi (Kyoto, Japan), Yu-Tain Wang (UBC, Canada), Min Zhuo (Toronto, Canada).

The second part of the symposium is part of the highly successful Association for Neuron and Disease annual meeting, former ‘International Conference for Neuron and Brain Disease’.  This symposium will also feature presentation from more than 20 selected abstracts and so it promises to be a very exciting meeting.

“In particular, we encourage PhD students / Postdocs to join this symposium. There are POSTER PRIZES”
