The Centre for Market and Public Organisation (CMPO) is an ESRC-funded research centre, based in the School of Economics, Finance and Management. The aim of the Centre is to understand the right way to organise and deliver public services. CMPO is recruiting a research assistant (RA) who will be employed to carry out micro-economic analysis on issues relevant to public policy.
You will be responsible for a range of tasks, including reviewing relevant literature, cleaning datasets and preparing them for analysis, and carrying out descriptive and micro-econometric analysis.
You will have at least a first degree in economics, with knowledge of applied econometrics and large scale data analysis. Supervised by senior academics, you will join a vibrant research environment, with excellent opportunities for ongoing training in all aspects of the research process alongside a wide range of transferable skills.
If successful, you may be appointed either on a fixed-term or an open-ended contract depending on the extent of your previous relevant research experience. Three years’ appropriate and relevant experience at another higher education institution would normally lead to an appointment on an open-ended contract. Further information can be found at www.bristol.ac.uk/hr/ftc/
It is expected that interviews will take place in the week commencing 9 July 2012.
