Postgraduate Dental Studies (BUOLD21C)

Postgraduate Dental Studies, also known as Bristol University Open Learning for Dentists (BUOLD21C), is a flexible, blended learning programme is designed for busy dental practitioners.

Advancing your dental practice

Covering the latest issues and themes in the field, you can either take units as a "one-off" through the occasional route as part of your continuing professional development, or opt to go down the more formal route of a Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma or Master’s.

From a choice of four-month units, you will study three units to achieve the Postgraduate Certificate or six units to gain the Postgraduate Diploma. On successful completion of the Postgraduate Diploma, you may carry out a research project and prepare a dissertation to achieve the MSc Postgraduate Dental Studies.

We welcome applications from Dental Hygienists and Dental Therapists to appropriate units on this programme (for example, Local Anaesthesia, Law and Ethics, Anxiety Management).

Did you know?

  • The Certificate, Diploma and MSc are all offered on a part-time basis.
  • Each unit is taught through up to two study days in Bristol, as well as online content that you can work through at home in your own time.
  • The units are interactive giving you the chance to learn for yourself with expert support from our tutors.

Completing the programme will progress my career, allowing me to take on a more senior, complex managerial role.
