Viva Congratulations to Candice Bellis
9 November 2017
Congratulations to Candice Bellis who passed her PhD viva with minor corrections on Friday 3rd of November. The examiners were very complimentary of both her work and her thesis defence.
Candice’s MRC-funded research was supervised by Dr Michele Barbour (primary) & Dr Dominic O’Sullivan (clinical), with visits to industry supervised by James Holder.
The project was entitled Antimicrobial Nanoparticles for Glass Ionomer Cements & focussed on developing methods of incorporating nanoparticles into cements, evaluating those methods & identifying the antimicrobial effects produced.
Candice is now working as a technical sales specialist for a company specialising in laboratory equipment with a lean towards histology and metallurgy, helping laboratories and universities find the equipment that they need.
