The School of Oral and Dental Sciences is committed to excellence and innovation in all its teaching and learning.

Following the introduction of a revised curriculum for the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programme in 2006 and a £15 million refurbishment project in 2007, we were rated as the top Dental School in the UK in the 2009 National Student Survey. To undergraduates the School offers quality assured teaching in its state-of-the-art facilities, with emphasis on a strong scientific base, excellence in clinical training, and developing an ethos for an optimally-functioning dental team.

The School attracts a thriving and diverse postgraduate community to its range of taught and research-based programmes. To postgraduates we offer high quality, professional courses delivered by clinicians and academics who are internationally recognised in their clinical specialty and research fields respectively.

The School is also the largest provider of training for dental care professionals in the United Kingdom, with the ultimate aim to provide the highest quality of patient care by supporting individual development and professionalism.
