Senior Digital Education Developer My background is in foreign language teaching and bilingual translation. Before joining the Digital Education Office I was a language coordinator at the London School of Economics and the University of Bristol Language Centre and I have taught on a range of undergraduate and Life Long Learning language units for over fifteen years. During my teaching career I have taken part in a number of educational projects which, from various perspectives, study the use of technology to enhance language teaching and complement the traditional ‘face- to- face’ mode. I have also studied and developed the use of online learning environments, online tutorials, and related in-class technology and e-Assessment.
I was appointed to the role of e-Assessment Support Officer in 2006 to provide advice on the pedagogical benefit of e-assessment and support the introduction of Questionmark Perception, a dedicated online assessment system, as well as develop procedural and pedagogical guidelines, namely 'e-Assessment lifecycle' and 'writing effective assessment questions for online delivery; principles and guidelines, for the implementation of small and large scale online formative, summative assessment and online exams.
Since the team restructure in 2016 I have been part of the Digital Education Development team in DEO as a Senior Digital Education Developer. I am involved in supporting the Electronic Management of Assessment project, a three-year project that aims to move Schols to online submission, marking and feedback, where possible, by 2020.
I run individual and group consultation on assessment practice, training for supported technologies and a range of staff development workshops as part of the University Staff Development offer. I also offer dedicated sessions such as drop ins for staff both in a face to face mode or online.
I was born in the Italian city of Rimini, a province of the Emilia-Romagna region. I studied modern foreign languages at the 'Università di Urbino' where I was awarded the degree of Bachelors of Arts in Modern Foreign Languages. Subsequently, I did further specialized study in translation at the University of Westminster and received the degree of Master of Arts in Bilingual Translations. I was awarded a QTS certificate (Qualified Teacher Status) by the National College for Teaching and Leadership in 1996.
