My research focuses on the effect of climate change and ocean acidification on ecology and evolution of marine organisms, focussing on critical transitions in Earth history e.g. the KPg, the PETM and the Pliocene.Our assessment of historical and geological records of ocean acidification covers a range of organisms from bryozoans, bivalves to marine plankton. We use traditional methods such as taxonomy and stratigraphy but also novel approaches such as the ion probe [SIMS], electron probe [EMPA] for in-situ analysis of isotopes and trace elements in foraminifers, minerological methods such as TEM and EBSD, synchrotron scanning [SRXTM] and work ...
