Mr Joseph Asplet

Biography

I am a PhD student at the university of Bristol, working with Professors James Wookey and Mike Kendall. My main research interests are in seismic anisotropy of the Earth's lowermost mantle, tools (such as shear-wave splitting) we can use to resolve this anistropy and how we can use anisotropy to understand the composition and dynamics of the mantle.

PhD (Geology) - University of Bristol, (2018 - present): "Imaging the Earth's Dynamics Mantle"

Msci Geophysics (with study abroad) (1st class) - University of Southampton (study abroad at Penn State University), (2013 - 2017). Thesis title "A comparison of probabilistic methods for earthquake relocation in Maule, Chile".
