24 January 2018, 4.00 PM - 24 January 2018, 5.00 PM

Prof. Tom Sperlinger and Prof. Josie McLellan

Room 1.20/21, School of Education, Bristol, BS8 1JA

This event is part of the School of Education's 'Bristol Conversations in Education' seminar series.

Speaker: Prof. Tom Sperlinger and Prof. Josie McLellan

Discussions of higher education tend to centre on particular issues in the UK system that need fixing or reform: funding, widening access, re-making measures of quality or impact, or the role of international students and staff in a post-Brexit Europe. In contrast, attempts to re-shape higher education in a wholesale way tend to be concentrated outside the sector. This talk will consider whether we might re-think how higher education is organised, arguing for a system that is more flexible and re-made around the shape of a variety of people’s lives, with wide-ranging implications for all aspects of universities’ work.
