Welcome to our new Head of School, Professor Bruce Macfarlane

A warm welcome to Professor Bruce Macfarlane who began his role today as the new Head of School at the School of Education.

He is succeeding Acting Heads of School, Professor Leon Tikly and Professor Keri Facer.

Bruce is a Professor of Higher Education who specialises in developing concepts for understanding the ethical dimensions of what it means to be an academic. His best known works are his single authored academic monographs published by Routledge: Teaching with Integrity (2004), The Academic Citizen (2007), Researching with Integrity (2009), Intellectual Leadership in Higher Education (2012) and Freedom to Learn (2017). 

Bruce will be hosting a Bristol Conversations in Education seminar on the 29th November, 'Freedom to learn at university', which all are welcome to attend.
