Overall, 90 per cent of the Graduate School of Education's research has been rated to be of international standard. 60 per cent of our research in Education has been awarded either the top 4* rating, defined as ‘world leading’, or the 3* rating, classed as ‘internationally excellent’.
88 per cent of eligible staff were entered which is evidence of our sustained success as an internationally recognised postgraduate school of Education. Our students can be assured of mentoring by staff of international standing as well as an increasingly strengthened teaching and learning environment in the School.
Our interdisciplinary work has been strengthened by the high standards attained by our research partners across the University as well as with our research partnerships worldwide.
Professor Tim Bond, Head of School, said: “These results confirm that our research is continuing to and will increasingly shape education policy and practice agendas across the globe and at home in Bristol.”
The RAE’s significance goes beyond money: the results also give potential students and staff an insight into the quality of UK universities and help guide investment decisions by industry, charities and other organisations that sponsor research.
