Doctoral Conference 2017

Navigating Uncertain Terrains

Navigating Uncertain Terrains: Exploring Methodologies, Identities and Knowledge Domains in a Changing World

Monday 5 June to Tuesday 6 June 2017, 9-5 pm. Join us at the Graduate School of Education and take part in a fruitful exchange of ideas around the world of research and education.

The University of Bristol’s Doctoral Conference is an annual two-day conference hosted by research students at the School of Education.

The aims of this conference are to provide a space for researchers in any area of education to reflect on, present and discuss aspects of their research in a friendly, encouraging and thought-provoking environment.

By definition, research is an endeavour that deals in uncertainty - our direction, our methods, or the knowledge domains that will figure into our work. We’re even uncertain about our identity at this early stage in our personal journey as a researcher. This conference will allow us to explore that uncertainty and consider the process of engaging with uncertainty as essential for our research careers.

We welcome contributions from people at any stage of their doctoral journey. The conference will include a combination of presentations, poster events, and discussion sessions to share our work and provide opportunities for engagement.
