Italy

Work with Italian colleagues has two strands, one with Marie Alessandra Mariotti from the University of Pisa and one with Ferdinando Arzarello from the University of Turin. Both strands started from networks developed at PME meetings, which led to subsequent meetings in both Italy and England.

Over the years I (Rosamund Sutherland) have come to recognise and understand the contribution of the Italian Mathematics Education community to research in the field and have been particularly interested in their collaborative partnerships between researchers and teachers.
