MSc Programmes
The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering has a large postgraduate community, undertaking both taught and research-based programmes under the guidance of the Department's expert staff and researchers.
A 'postgraduate' degree programme is a further degree (i.e. where you are continuing study after already having been awarded your first degree). The Department's world leading research activities allow us to offer specialised degrees of this type, and the following postgraduate degree programmes are available:

These challenging programmes provide an excellent opportunity for graduates in physics, engineering, mathematical and other numerate disciplines to acquire the necessary skills to enter careers in some of the most dynamic fields in communications. They provide in-depth training in modern communication engineering concepts, with special emphasis on RF Design, Wireless Communications, Optical Communications and Signal Processing. Participants attain a deep understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of communication systems, signal processing and optical data communications. Students will find the course attractive due to its high technological relevance to an exciting, rapidly expanding and prosperous industry. The course builds on the research strengths of the Centre for Communications Research within the Department.

Please note: You can only join the programmes above in late September/early October annually. As they are taught programmes of study, you cannot enter at any other time in the academic year.
