2011:

June 2011: EEMG researchers will be presenting papers at EPE 2011, the 14th European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications in to be held in Birmingham later this year, and at ECCE 2011, the IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition in Phoenix in September.

May: The group is now a partner on a £3M EPSRC funded project led by Warwick University investigating electric power train solutions for hybrid/electric vehicles.

May: A new round of PhD studentships for UK candidates is coming up, please check out our PhD Studentships page.

April: BIS UK Power Electronics National Strategy Workshop held in Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering at University of Bristol.

March: 2011 Summer School held in Bristol.

March: Bristol joins E3 Academy.

February 2011: The Electrical Energy Management Group is now a Competence Centre for the European Center for Power Electronics (ECPE). Leading power electronics industries founded ECPE in 2003 in order to promote research, education and technology transfer in this field.

January 2011: The Electrical Energy Management Group is to provide detailed machine models in new EC project for medium-sized more electric aircraft.

January 2011: The Electrical Energy Management Group is to investigate designs and provide testing platforms for latest generation Helicopter electric gurney flap actuation systems.

2010:

October 2010: EPSRC Research Grant (£100k) developing high accuracy virtual test facilities at Bristol begins.

October 2010: JTi Clean Skies project (£1.5M with other collaborators) looking at bringing state-of-the-art electrical technologies to helicopters kicks-off at Bristol.

September 2010: Aeolus student vehicle project begins testing in preparation for the International race in Denmark.

May 2010: One of our PhD students has been selected to umpire at the Commonwealth Games. Well done Will! Read on...

April 2010: Four PhD students have just presented papers at PEMD 2010.

April 2010: EPSRC funded project on Electronics for Energy Harvesting kicks off. The project is in collaboration with the University of Southampton,  Imperial College London, and the University of Newcastle, and supported by QuinetiQ, Diodes Inc., ARM, NXP, and Mentor Graphics.

2009:

September 2009: E-Van project kicks off (£344k TSB).
