Information Office 1C5
Tamsin Hart and Nicky McClure (Room 1C5, Tel: 0117 331 0500, email: efim-info@bristol.ac.uk run the School Information Office and are available from Monday to Friday from 8.30a.m. - 5.00p.m. to help with any enquiries or problems you may have.
Please read the following advice carefully and make contact with the Office if you need help:
- Watch the Noticeboard outside 1C5 - our office. All official notices about changes or cancellation of classes and lectures are posted there.
- Let us know if you are ill (by phone, by email or through a friend) or if you need to miss a tutorial for any other reason. Unexplained absences in tutorial classes are recorded by your tutor.
- Please read your email: staff increasingly use this as a form of communication with students.
- Log in to Blackboard regularly to check on course announcements and information.
- Please let us have changes of address and phone numbers as soon as you know them - we may need to get in touch with you urgently.
- Finding your way about - there are departmental maps on display. Please note that room numbers are in the following order FLOOR, BUILDING, ROOM - so 0B4 means ground floor, B block, room 4.
Finally it is very important that the School is aware of any problems that arise during your course (personal, medical, academic or an other). There is always somebody who can help you and talk to you in confidence. First see your Personal Tutor, who can direct you to others if he or she cannot help. Your main point of contact with your department, the School and the University is through the Information Office and through your personal tutor.
