Who needs big banks? The real effects of bank size on outcomes of large US borrowers
Wei Zhai is in the 3rd year of her PhD studies in Finance. Her research paper, "Who needs big banks? The real effects of bank size on outcomes of large US borrowers" has been accepted to be published in the Journal of Corporate Finance. It is a 4* rated journal in the CABS journal guide. In her paper, she finds that large banks positively affect borrower performance, by allowing them to invest more and take more risks. Interestingly, the positive effects of bank size are concentrated in the ex-ante safer subset of borrowing firms.
