Personal profile

I am originally from Ireland, and studied for a BA in Music and English Literature at University College Cork, which I completed in 2007. Following several years of work and travel I moved to Bristol in 2011 to do an Msc in Management at the University of Bristol. On completion I started a PhD in the department, under the supervision of Dr. Mary Phillips and Dr. Patricia Gaya, which I submitted in October 2016. I began my current role, as a Teaching Associate, in September 2016.

Research

My research interests are in the areas of gender, embodiment, phenomenology and leadership. My PhD thesis, entitled "Reversibility, Dys-appearance and the Telic Demand: A phenomenological investigation of women's experiences of their bodies in leadership", draws on the philosophy of Merleau-Ponty and Leder to explore the experiences and perceptions of the body for those who self-identify as women and self-identify as leaders.
