Department of Economics

Personal profile

This semester I am lecturing in Economic Principles 2 and giving tutorials in Applied Microeconomics, Intermediate Economics 2, and Foundations for Finance and Economics. In the past I have taught everything from Economic Principles 1, to Industrial Economics, to Current Economic Problems to MSc Econometrics students. So, feel free to bring me questions on any areas of economics you are interested in because I would be delighted to discuss these with you.

Office hours-

  • Monday 12.30-13.30
  • Wednesday 11.30-12.30
  • Friday 13.30-14.30

If you are unable to make these hours, please don’t hesitate to email me to arrange a meeting. I am very happy to help you outside my office hours.

A bit about me: My area of research is in industrial organisations, particularly hierarchy formation. I am also interested in behavioural and experimental economics and have one paper in this area.

My two main hobbies are chess and squash. I play both competitively. I play chess in the Bristol and District Chess League for Downend and Fishponds Chess Club. I used to play National League but time constraints preclude this now. Until recently I was ranked in the top one hundred players in the United Kingdom but due to a decline in the quality of my game I am currently ranked 160. I play squash for Workout Harbourside in the Avon and Bristol and District league. I am not particularly talented but am always keen for a hit.

Micro and industrial organisations.
