Testing DSGE Models via Indirect Inference; Make Lectures Match How We Learn: The Nonlinear Teaching Approach (with Peng Zhou)

Personal profile

I have received a BSc, MSc, and PhD in Economics (sponsored by the ESRC) and an MRes in Advanced Economics from Cardiff University. Currently, I am a Teaching Fellow in Economics at the University of Bristol.  Pedagogically, my research interests lie in innovative teaching and assessment methods in large and small groups. More specifically, I am interested in the challenges of young lecturers in teaching large number of students in a lecture theatre.

I also serve the role of Senior Tutor in Economics supporting students who are experiencing serious and/or complex problems with studies or personal lives. I am working with various people around the University of Bristol for offering support on mental well-being. I have a certificate of Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) for providing first aid to people who may be experiencing mental health issues. Through the role of Senior Tutor, I signpost students to the right support services across the University. Emails relevant to extenuating circumstances should be sent to me on:  econ-ugseniortutor@bristol.ac.uk

My academic interest is in macroeconomics and I have worked on methods (more specifically on Indirect Inference) for testing a DSGE models which include financial development indicators as promoters of economic growth. Other experience involves working for the Office for National Statistics in the methodology directorate.
