2020 visit days cancelled
During the COVID-19 outbreak, the health and wellbeing of visitors, students and staff is our priority so we have taken the decision to cancel visit days for 2020.
If you would like more information on the University's response to COVID-19, please visit our Coronavirus (COVID-19) webpage.
Undergraduate visit days
Each year from November to mid-March, the Department provides a sequence of 5 or 6 visit days in which undergraduate students who have been made an offer by us are invited to visit the Department for a day. Visit days generally take place every Wednesday during this period and applicants are invited to meet both staff and current students on the course, as well as to have a look round the department. Parents are welcome to attend.
To get an idea of the academic programme on our visit days please visit the Civil Engineering Programme.
BTEC and Access route
If you are applying with BTEC or Access qualifications then please click on the following link to find out more about our Maths test for Engineering - Maths Test guidance.
Should you be unable to attend one of the University-wide open days or the Department visit days, the following options are available for both prospective undergraduates and postgraduates:
- Campus tours offered throughout the year, led by current students and organised centrally
- A self-guided walking tour
- Faculty of Engineering tours can be arranged by email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
We regret we cannot accommodate visitors directly to our Department without prior appointments, and since all our academic staff are also active researchers, we cannot guarantee a chance to meet a staff member outside scheduled hours.
