Airbus Lunchtime Lecture - Wednesday 25 October at 1.00pm in the Pugsley Lecture Theatre
26 October 2017
A lecture on 'Landing Gear Design & Integration into Aircraft' was held this week. We were pleased to host an excellent presentation by Adriano Argiolas (Landing Gear Dynamics and Performance Specialist from Airbus) on Wednesday 25th October 2017.
Adriano's lecture formed part of the series of Airbus Lunchtime Lectures given over the past 3 years, these are organised by Prof. Jonathan Cooper and Sarah Hassall, in the Department of Aerospace Engineering. Adriano gave an overview of how the landing gear design impacts the overall aircraft design, and what can happen in instances when things don’t go as planned!
Biography - Adriano Argiolas graduated with an MSc in Aerospace Engineering at Sapienza University. Adriano started his career in Italy as a Control Systems Engineer in 2007, he then spent several years working in Yeovil in the U.K. as a Vehicle Dynamics Engineer in AgustaWestland (now known as Leonardo Helicopters). Following this, Adriano moved to Germany, where he worked as a Wind Turbine Aeroelastic Engineer. In 2012, Adriano joined Airbus, where he currently works as a Landing Gear Dynamics & Performance Specialist.
