Dr Angela Doufexi

Biography

Dr Angela Doufexi is currently Senior Lecturer in Wireless Networks at the University of Bristol. She graduated from the University of Athens with a B.Sc. in Physics in 1996. She received her M.Sc. in Electronic Engineering from Cardiff University in 1998, before joining the Centre for Communications Research at the University of Bristol, where she received her Ph.D. in 2002.

Dr Doufexi has worked in a number of projects including the European IST projects SATURN, ROMANTIK, ASTRALS and WCAM. Currently she is the Principal Investigator in EE in the VIEWNET TSB project. The project is in collaboration with the Computer Science Department and partners from industry. Her research interests include OFDM and OFDMA systems, wireless LANs (PHY and MAC), space time coding and MIMO, LTE and WiMAX, opportunistic scheduling and  cross layer optimisation and multimedia transmission.

She has published more than 80 international journal and conference papers and 2 patents (1 granted, 1 filed). Angela currently supervises 6 PhD students and 2 RAs. She has acted as an evaluator and reviewer for European Union IST Projects on a number of occasions. She has chaired technical sessions in international conferences and has been invited to give lectures.
