Mr Mayank Patni

Mayank Patni is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Aerospace Engineering, University of Bristol. He is also a researcher in the Wind Blade Research Hub (WBRH), a collaboration between the Bristol Composites Institute of the University of Bristol and the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult. Mayank obtained his PhD in October 2019 from the same department and was funded by the H2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie European Training Network. His PhD thesis focused on developing a computationally efficient numerical framework for predicting localised 3D stress fields in composite structures. Before that, Mayank worked as an Application Engineer at ANSYS Inc., India, from 2012-2016, where he was actively involved in structural modelling and simulation for engineering design applications. He obtained his Master's degree in Applied Mechanics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi in 2012 and Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Devi Ahilya University, Indore in 2010. Mayank's research interests lie in the area of structural analysis, computational mechanics, damage and failure analysis. He is currently focussing on developing a variable-fidelity multi-scale numerical modelling tool for wind turbine blade structures.
