Dr Paul Vardanega

Biography

Dr Paul J. Vardanega studied at Queensland University of Technology and graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) with First Class Honours and a University Medal and a Master of Engineering Science (Civil Engineering) in 2007 and 2008 respectively. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge in Geotechnical Engineering completed in 2012 under the supervision of Professor Malcolm Bolton FREng. He is a Member of Engineers Australia and of the American Society of Civil Engineers. After his PhD he worked as a Research Associate (under the direction of Professor Campbell Middleton) in the Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge working on various projects related to the structural health monitoring of bridges. Since September 2013 he has been a Lecturer in Civil Engineering at the University of Bristol. He is a co-author of a recent book entitled 'Bridge Monitoring - A Practical Guide' published by ICE Publishing.
