Area of research
I help to lead R&D/ILRT, an innovative multi-disciplinary research and development division of the University of Bristol's IT Services, where we explore and pilot cutting edge research, learning and enterprise technologies for the University and the wider educational sector.

Research summary
Since joining the University of Bristol in 1992, I have worked on numerous R&D projects, including:
- data.bris, an initiative to establish a Research Data Service at the University, building on £2m investment already made in research data storage;
- Bristol Online Surveys, a web based tool that allows people to create, deploy and analyse online surveys. BOS is widely used in approximately 130 UK and overseas universities and over 170 other organisations;
- Learning Technology Support Service, a pre-cursor to the University's e-Learning group;
- early multimedia and e-Learning projects such as WinEcon, still widely site licenced around the world ...
