Research summary

Steve Gregory was formerly a pioneering researcher in concurrent logic programming. His Parlog language inspired much of the content of the ill-fated Japanese Fifth Generation Computer Systems (FGCS) Project of the 1980s. After designing several more little-used programming languages, he decided to change research direction. Since 2006 he has been working in the emerging field of network science, specializing in community structure. He is fascinated by the versatility of networks as a kind of interdisciplinary data representation "language", which allows network analysis and algorithms to make sense of, and solve problems in, the real world.
