The 2008 Jerry Morris Lecture held last week was a real success.  Dr Susan Jebb gave an interesting lecture on ‘obesity: the public health challenge’ which was very well attended.  We would like to thank our sponsor, the National Heart Forum, for generously supporting this annual lecture. 

After the lecture, the students named below were also presented with the Lifetime Health and Fitness awards and certificates, generously sponsored by Lifetime:

Outstanding Departmental Contribution: Sarah Williams.

Outstanding MSc Dissertation of the Year: Janet Withall & Lesley Harold.

Outstanding Contribution to the Local Community: Dan Lin, Lucy Rumbellow & Siana Jones.

The MSc awardees after the lecture with Head of Department Professor Janice Thompson, Dr Susan Jebb and Chris Payne, Tutor Manager from Lifetime.  Janet Withall and Dan Lin were unable to attend and were awarded in absence.
