University Engagement Award win for ENHS
Professor Janice Thompson wins University Engagement Award

Professor Janice Thompson has been named as one of the recipients of the University of Bristol Engagement Awards for 2007/08. This award was created to recognise an individual or a group of individuals who demonstrate exceptional and/or innovative engagement practices.
Professor Thompson received this award for on-going research activities that includes the work of PhD student Sunita Procter. These activities focus on developing culturally appropriate lifestyle programmes to reduce obesity, cardiovascular disease, and type 2 diabetes risk among South Asian women in Bristol. The prize was awarded at the University Learning and Teaching Exhibition on Tuesday 8th January. Professor Thompson will use this award to support current and future engagement projects with South Asian communities.
