Programme and Unit Approval

The University needs to ensure that any new or revised units or programmes are academically appropriate and sound, and that sufficient resource can and will be made available to ensure their successful delivery. To ensure this, all proposals to introduce or change units or programmes must be formally approved before being implemented.

Please contact Elinor Davies in the Education Support Unit or use the links below to find out more about how to put a proposal forward and for the relevant forms:

From the start of the academic year 2009/10, all new and revised unit proposals need to be submitted with an approved unit costing produced from the online unit costing tool.

All proposals must be approved at departmental and faculty level. Some proposals, including new programmes, will also need to be approved by Programme Approval Group (previously Validation Group) and other University committees; for more information please see the relevant pages by following the links above. Committee dates for 2009/10 can be found below:

To follow a proposal's progress through the University-level committee structure, please see the tracking page for 2009/10. The progress of proposals made in 2008/09, can be found here.
