IMPORTANT NOTICE: On the 20 September 2011 Questionmark Perception was upgraded. Users of Authoring Manager before that date would have installed version 4.4 which is now obsolete. If you try to connect to the shared repository you will be asked to upgrade to Authoring Manager 5.2. Although that is the correct version *DO NOT* attempt to upgrade the software in this way. In fact we advise you to email service-desk@bristol.ac.uk and request that Authoring Manager 4.4 be uninstalled from your computer.
The correct way to access Authoring Manager 5.2 is through a terminal server. This improved method of deployment enables users to access it on any PC computer, instead of just one, and without installing the software. Please be aware that you still need to be a *licensed* Authoring Manager user or you will not be able to run it.
Off-campus users: To use the Authoring Manager at home or anywhere else off-campus, you need to be connected to the UoB VPN. If you aren't already set up on the VPN, follow the instructions on connecting to the VPN from off campus.
All users:
A) If you see the window shown below check ‘Don't ask me again for connections to this computer’ then click on ‘Connect’.

B) If you are asked for your UoB credentials be sure to put UOB\ before your username as shown below.

C) If you see the window shown below click ‘Yes’

D) If you are off campus the most likely reason you will see the following message is that you are not connected to the UoB VPN. See step 2 above.

E) When Authoring Manager is loaded you will be ask to select a repository. Select 'Open existing repository (Shared)', click 'OK' and in the window that appears make sure the server is set to tcp://qmp.bris.ac.uk:7800 as shown below then click 'Connect'.
