Units are the basic building blocks of study at Bristol. In any given year a student may be taking one or many units each lasting a few weeks or the whole year. Units may be mandatory, optional or open.
The Unit Catalogue lists information for all units running in the current academic year and, from March each year, provisionally lists the units for the next academic year.
Programmes are the structured combinations of units that lead to awards (e.g BSc, MA).
Programme Catalogue 2011/12
The Programme Catalogue holds details of all taught programmes. This includes information on the aims, intended outcomes and structure of the programme (i.e. the units that make up the programme). This information supplements information in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate prospectuses.
