Summary

Biography

I am a senior research associate based in the Tobacco and Alcohol Research Group (TARG). I am currently working as part of a Wellcome-funded collaborative programme, Behaviour Change by Design, with researchers at the Universities of Bristol and Cambridge. We are running a series of laboratory and field studies to generate evidence for the effectiveness and mechanisms of 'choice architecture' interventions to reduce alcohol, food and tobacco consumption. This programme builds on the previous MRC Public Health Intervention Development Scheme (PHIND) funded project that I worked on, which investigated the best approach to alcohol product labelling, with particular focus on what information is likely to be effective, who the key target audiences are and how information could be delivered in novel ways beyond standard labelling.

I completed my PhD at the Bristol Speech and Language Therapy Research Unit, University of the West of England (UWE). My PhD investigated the dynamics of the relationship between parent and child language for preschool children with early language delay. I am particularly interested in intervention research and have previously worked in both the third sector and schools.
