Visual perception, particularly face perception and perception of time. Decision-making, financial decision-making.

I graduated from the University of Exeter with a BA in English Literature, then worked in finance in the London office of PwC where I qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Following a career break to raise my children, I returned to academia, obtaining a BSc (first class) in Experimental Psychology, an MSc (with distinction) in Research Methods in Psychology, and a PhD in Experimental Psychology, from the University of Bristol. I am interested in all aspects of visual perception and cognition. My undergraduate and MSc research investigated sub-second time perception and my PhD research (under the supervision of Dr Chris Benton) explored the perception of facial identity, investigating how we recognise people from their faces and how that may be affected by facial expressions. My current research, with Dr Roland Baddeley, concerns decision-making and financial risk. I am a postdoctoral representative on the Bristol Vision Institute (BVI) Management Board, and a member of the School of Experimental Psychology Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity Committee.
