Miss Jane Cowan

After graduating from Durham University with a BSc in Geology in 2004, I worked in Japan as an English teacher, and then qualified as a primary school teacher in the UK.  I taught in schools in Oxford for 3 years, and then spent a year working in Special Educational Needs Education.  I then completed a Psychology of Education MEd (with distinction) at the University of Bristol; my final project was a qualitative analysis of individuals’ perception of colour on reading.

My PhD research investigates the effects of coloured overlays and coloured filters on reading.   My supervisors are Dr Nick Scott Samuel and Dr Clive Franklish.
