Dr Jennifer Ferrar

Biography

I graduated summa cum laude from Fordham University (New York) with a B.Sc. in Psychology in 2011. From 2012-2014, I worked as a clinical research coordinator at Columbia University Medical Center and New York Presbyterian Hospital. In this position, I was responsible for the recruitment, execution, and management of two NIA-funded clinical trials for patients with mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease. From September 2014 to June 2018, I was a member of the Nutrition and Behaviour Unit. During this time, I completed a Ph.D. under the supervision of Peter Rogers and Danielle Ferriday. My PhD research investigated how percieved and actual appetitive states influence beverage consumption. During my Ph.D, I organised and volunteered at various STEM public engagement events and worked as a fieldworker for the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children project. I am currently a postdoctoral research associate in the Tobacco and Alcohol Research Group.
