I'm a UKRI Innovation Fellow, funded by a Mid-Career Fellowship from Health Data Research UK. My research interests are around the use of wearable technology for capturing health related data.
I'm also part of the MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit (IEU) at the University of Bristol, where I have an interest in novel approaches to digital phenotyping and digital health.
After an apprenticeship with BT’s Research and Development department I went to study Electronic Systems Engineering at the University of Essex. I returned to BT to work as a designer, project manager then group leader on projects that ranged from developing the world's first video on demand service to collaborations with Microsoft building corporate groupworking products. I joined the School of Experimental Psychology at Bristol to pursue an interest in visual perception and social cognition, and completed a PhD in face perception with Dr Chris Benton.
