Botanic Garden

"To educate, communicate and conserve"

The mission of the Botanic Garden is to provide a diverse, correctly-named, well labelled and attractively displayed teaching and conservation collection of plants, in support of the University of Bristol's teaching and research endeavour and its educational commitments to the wider community.

The Botanic Garden is located at The Holmes, Stoke Bishop, in a 1.77 hectare garden.  There are four themed plant collections:

As well as enhancing the teaching of Plant Sciences within the University, the garden also provides a unique teaching resource for local schools and is a cultural attraction for the City of Bristol.

Entry to the Botanic Garden is free for University staff and students, on presentation of their UCard, during normal opening hours and by prior arrangement. Members of the public are charged a small entrance fee.  Full details of opening times, directions to the garden, events and courses can be found on the Botanic Garden website.
