Money-saving tips, competitions and more

The Student Funding Office will be taking part in the annual National Student Money Week, a UK-wide event co-ordinated by the National Association of Student Money Advisers (NASMA). This year's theme is Breaking Bad Money Habits.

From the 4th to the 7th February, the Student Funding team will be hosting a stand in the Foyer in the Senate House from 11 am to 3 pm.

Come along for money advice, activities and free competitions with great prizes from local businesses. The prizes include a food hamper, a free gym pass, a brunch/lunch for two, vouchers, art supplies and more!

Competitions

  • Shopping Basket Challenge - Work out the difference in price between the two grocery baskets. The winner will take away the contents of both baskets!
  • Break Your Bad Money Habit Selfie Competition - Share a bad money habit and your idea on how to break it. The students who submit the most original ideas (judged by the Student Funding team) will win a £50 voucher!
  • Money Quiz - Answer two money-related questions and you get to take part in a lucky dip for a chance to win amazing prizes!

Special guests

Colleagues from Just Ask will be at the stand on Wednesday 6th February, ready to give you advice on processes such as appeals, extenuating circumstances and changing course.
